City of FaribaultThe city ordinance prohibits parking on any City street after a two-inch or more snowfall or if the Public Works Director/City Engineer announces a snow emergency. In the downtown area, the City may enforce City Code Section 15-44 between 1:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Vehicles parked in violation of the ordinance between 1:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. are subject to a citation and may be towed. Snow emergencies are announced on KDHL, on the City webpage and Nixle will be used as a notification tool. Additionally, the City has installed two blue lights in the downtown area on Central Avenue and Division Street, and at Central Avenue and 4th Street N.W. These blue lights flash when activated indicating a snow emergency has been announced for that evening. The Faribault Police Department may ticket and/or tow any vehicles in violation during this time. |
